Welcome to Help for Progress
Help for Progress (HfP) is a nonprofit, non-government agency that works with community-based organizations to encourage sustainability, dignity and hope in rural Belize.
Introduction - What is Help for Progress?
HfP emerged in 1981 in response to the various constraints to development that confront rural communities in Belize. It is officially registered under the NGO act. It is governed by a nine member Board of volunteer Directors. The Executive Director serves as Secretary to the Board of Directors. HfP's client groups elect three representatives to serve on the Board.

Vision
Creating productive tools that empower and integrate rural society.
Mission
Working with local and regional partners to strengthen and enable communities to identify, address and solve their problems.
Strategies
The overall strategy of the agency is the provision of support services to enable its constituent groups to overcome identified constraints to the development of their communities, to create livelihood opportunities and increase self reliance.
Activities
Over the years, HfP has promoted and supported activities at the grassroots level that have involved the participation of rural people in the identification, preparation, execution and evaluation of projects for their improvement. Special emphasis is placed on the development and implementation of programs for small scale farmers, women and small entrepreneurs.
HfP's main program areas are focused on education, gender, environment and citizen participation.
